The Perfect Patio Does Matter! Oh Yes. It Does.
Who says a patio isn’t worth the extra investment and muscle hours you put into it? Unless you’re one of “those guys” who has an allergy to everything under the sky, a patio is the next best thing to having a theater room in your house! Well, at least from a man’s point of view.
First off, having a patio is a great way to increase the value of your property. And second, some of the most memorable times in my life have happened while spending time outside with my friends and family…on the patio! Whether you use a Portable Patio Deck Kit or build a concrete one, you can find ways to maximize that space and make it as welcoming as possible for your guests. If you wish to work with professionals, the Peters’ Patio & Landscape designers can build you a beautiful space for you and your family to enjoy.
Create the Perfect Patio
Add a Fire Pit to Your Patio
An easy way to create a welcoming patio space is to add a fire pit that you can use throughout the year. During the spring and summer months, the fire can be used to keep the bugs away, and during the cooler months, it’s a great way to keep warm while enjoying the cool fresh air. There’s something about a fire that attracts crowds….not sure exactly what it is. Maybe it’s the pyro in all of us!
Make Sure That There are Plenty of Places to Sit
You need to make sure that there is enough seating for everyone to enjoy the space comfortably. Whether you decide to have reclining chairs, zero gravity chairs or a simple bench, there should be enough seating for at least ten or more people. If you don’t have the space or budget to have permanent patio furniture, keep a few camping chairs close buy that you can whip out in a hurry. There’s nothing worse than standing while eating your food!
A Grill is a MUST!
Without exception, having a grill on your patio is a must, must, must. I’m just saying, if you’re a man, and you don’t own a grill, well, I apologize ahead of time, but you really can’t call yourself a man. Sorry. If you’re going to step into manhood, add a grill to the list. If it were a budget thing, I’d install the grill before building the patio.
A Jacuzzi is Nice Too
Enough said.
To Enclose or Not to Enclose
Should you enclose your patio? If you live in an area where the temperatures can get extremely hot or extremely cold, you might want to consider installing patio covers. Another factor to consider is your bug population. For instance, my in-laws have a screened in patio due to what they call “Can’t See Em’s.” They’re tiny black bugs that come out in the spring and early summer and leave bites that itch worse the mosquitoes.
There are a ton of different designs and options when wanting to have a patio on your property. Whether you decide to enclose the space or leave it open, you can you might find some great ideas on patioliving.com.au. While there, you can look at specific products that you can mix and match to create a space that is truly your own.
