This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Avocados from Mexico. All opinions are 100% mine.
You got it, We love them.
We use avocados a lot, and they are only $0.50 a piece right now.
Basically, 2 for $1.00! Guacamole is a favorite at our house and if you missed it, here is the recipe we use…
The first step is choosing the right avocados.
For a creamier dip, choose avocados that are more ripe.
For chunkier guacamole, chose avocados that are a bit more firm.Dice the avocados, tomatoes, jalapeno pepper and half of the white onion.
(If you like it spicy, leave the seeds in the jalapeno pepper.
I recommend taking them out before dicing.)
Add avocados, tomatoes, jalapeno pepperand onion into a large bowl. Stir around until evenly mixed.
NOTE: The more you mix, the creamier your dip becomes.
Add a teaspoon of Onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, some pepper and a 1/4 teaspoon of cumin.
Mix seasoning in.
Our favorite chips to use are the Mission long tortilla chips.
We use this same yummy Guacamole in our
6 layer bean dip.
Our family recipe is super simple:
In a 9×13 casserole dish,
Spread a layer of Refried Beans
Then spread a layer of ground beef over the beans.
I then use a tub of sour cream over the beef.
On top of the that, we spread our guacamole.
The next layer is shredded cheese.
And then we top it off with black olives.
To make it a 7 layer dip, we add salsa.
Another favorite is to use avocados as a garnish
on our tortilla soup.
And the newest favorite is to make a BLT (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato)
and top it off with a yummy slice of Avocado. No matter how we slice it or serve it,
we love avocados!
And if you love avocados too,
there is now a Facebook page that
offers tons of different recipes using avocados.
